Les gagnants ont été révélés ce soir lors des 40e Golden Joystick Awards présentés par GamesRadar. Plus de trois millions de votes du public ont été exprimés dans 18 catégories, et trois prix de la critique ont également été décernés.
L'émission a été animée par les stars hollywoodiennes Laura Bailey et Troy Baker, connues pour avoir travaillé ensemble sous le nom de Joel et Abby dans The Last of Us Part II, et a également présenté des présentateurs invités tels que Josef Fares de Hazelight, Tim Schafer de Double Fine, l'acteur Maggie Robertson, Remedy Sam Lake de Entertainment, la présentatrice de BBC Radio 3 Sound of Gaming Louise Blain et le scénariste et auteur Gary Whitta.
