Les nominés pour les prix gamescom 2023 ont été déterminés : le jury composé de journalistes et de créateurs de jeux allemands et internationaux a sélectionné les titres les plus prometteurs parmi une variété de soumissions. L'un des nominés les plus prometteurs est Armored Core VI : Fires of Rubicon de Bandai Namco Entertainment avec un total de sept nominations. Un autre concurrent sérieux est The Legend of Zelda : Tears of the Kingdom de Nintendo avec quatre nominations, suivi de REKA (Emberstorm Entertainment / Fireshine Games) ainsi que The Wandering Village (Stray Fawn Studio) avec trois nominations chacun.
Cette année, le prix gamescom sera décerné dans 16 catégories au total. Les fans et les visiteurs de la gamescom décideront ensemble avec le jury professionnel des prix qui recevra les trophées tant convoités. Le coup d'envoi du vote aura lieu à la gamescom : Opening Night Live le mardi 22 août. Jusqu'au jeudi 24 août à 14h00 (CEST), les fans et les visiteurs de la gamescom peuvent voter pour leurs favoris dans les catégories Arts et Plateforme, ainsi que les catégories "Best of Show Floor" et "Best Trailer/Announcement" sur www.gamescom.global/ ou sur place via QR code.
Le gagnant de la catégorie Studio vert de l'année de la gamescom sera annoncé lors de la gamescom : Opening Night Live. Tous les autres gagnants seront annoncés lors de la remise des prix de la gamescom le vendredi 25 août, de 14h00 à 16h00 (UTC +2) dans le studio gamescom hébergé par IGN (Hall 8).
